Children & Young People
Children & young people are a very important part of the church at St Mellons, and we have a number of groups just for them.

First Steps (Pre-School)
First Steps is a friendly baby and toddler group held on Wednesday's during term time from 9:30-11:00. Do come and meet us, have a chat, meet other young families, and your children will have fun in a safe and caring environment. All helpers are DBS checked and the Church has a Safeguarding policy in place.
There is no charge for coming to this group.
Our time together begins with welcoming refreshments, tea/coffee and snacks, for the grown-ups, whilst the children have an opportunity to play with a wide-selection of toys. The morning also includes a Bible story, songs (with toddler-friendly musical instruments), craft activities relating to the Bible story, snacks for the children and tea/coffee for the adults. We finish with a time of more energetic play (ride-on toys, etc).
We have child-care facilities (e.g. nappy changing) and provision for nursing mums, so we hope that your time with us will be as comfortable as possible.
You can follow us on Facebook @first.steps.stmellons or Netmums, and contact us by e-mail at firststeps@stmellonsbaptist.church or using Facebook.

Crèche
We run a crèche during our morning service every Sunday, to encourage parents to bring their children. The crèche is just for pre-school children, and sermon-based activity sheets are provided for older children who are staying in for the whole service. All our crèche helpers are church members who have been DBS checked.
